I blame my beautiful 4K monitor for screwing everything up.
It absolutely delights me, but quickly pushed me out of Linux since many Linux apps are not ready for 4K, especially music applications. Every graphical volume meter is hard coded to a pixel size.
I also blame the Linux-compatible Yellowtec PUC2 sound card for sounding inferior to my beloved Lynx (which is Windows/Mac only).
And I blame the Mac Mini for generally sucking, and the Thunderbolt enclosure I got for not working.
@kai did you try GNOME's app scaling at 2x?
@jasondclinton 2x is a bit too big. That's what I settled for, though, since fractional scaling looks REALLY blurry.
I think it's just a matter of the audio plugin developers getting hidpi displays. Then they'll see it and fix it.
