@kai That’s terrible :< 💔
@smotheredbyblankets it's a first world problem
@mrjunge lol I think it's just the nature of running a business. How else are you going to work 12 hours/day in food service and raise a family without drugs? 😅
True. The key to curbing addiction is to reduce entrepreneurship. lol
@mrjunge obviously (or at least I hope obviously), I wouldn't advocate that people turn to drugs.
But I can understand being in your 40s, running a restaurant, for all I know his wife doesn't work meaning all the pressure is on him to bring in the cash, the restaurant is open 12 hours per day + prep time and clean up, 7 days per week, and all of your employees are clueless teens.
I was joking. But yeah. I can understand that. It is kind of amusing though that being able to basically function under the demands of the economy pushes us to take more psychoactive/psychotropic drugs. It's as if jt doesn't tolerate human limits, ey? 🤔 I heard Wall Street peeps take a lot of drugs.
@mrjunge my idea of a cocaine user is like a single mother working two jobs 😅
Well, rich people also take drugs, albeit for different reasons. Likely not cocaine though, but I wouldn't know. And yeah. Lets not forget meth as well. It's definitely a form of self-medication.
@mrjunge there's a methadone clinic right down the street. It's very busy.
