So, if I have another computer, and I want to install a simple version of Linux on it, connect it to my own with an ether net cable and ssh in, 8s it that easy? Or is there stuff I should know first? :/

If it were me I'd set a static ip address on each machine in the same subnet.

Modern network cards should auto negotiate being plugged into each other, but if it's old hardware, you would either need to plug both machines into the same switch, or use a null modem cable, either Ethernet or serial should work.

I'm curious what the situation is that you want to do this 😋

I just have an old (ish) machine, and I want to see what I can do with it, is all.
